The School Street School was built by the town of Lebanon in 1874 to be the best $20,000 could buy. It was meant to take the town's students into the next century. Over its 135 year history it became the neighborhood elementary where students could get a quality start to their education and become part of a close community. Now it will be closed for the next wave of progress - a large, city-wide, consolidated elementary.

Judges’ comments for the category

We felt that the neighborhood school stood out due to good storytelling, moments and composition. Second place was good but needed a tighter edit, a lot of redundant images. Third needed more moments. It suffered from too many detail shots.
